A court in Russia-annexed(영토·작은 나라 등을) 합병하다, 통합하다 Crimea has ordered 12 of 24 Ukrainian sailors who were apprehended붙잡다, 체포하다 at sea Sunday by Russian naval forces to be detained유치하다, 구금하다, 억류하다 for 2 months. They were apprehended following a confrontation(무력 등에 의한) 대립, 대치. Russia has accused the sailors, who were manning…에 사람[인원]을 배치하다; 승무원으로 태우다. 3 Ukrainian navy ships, of illegally entering Russian waters and ignoring warnings from Russian border guards. Ukraine has denied the charges and has imposed(새로운 법률·세금 등을) 도입[시행]하다 martial law in some of its border regions in response to the incident. Ukraine's parliament voted Monday to approve martial law계엄령 in 10 of the country's 27 regions beginning Wednesday.

3 American soldiers have been killed in a bombing in Afghanistan. [Today's] Tuesday's fatalities bring to 11 the number of American soldiers killed 
in action전투에 참가하다 in Afghanistan this year. Associated Press Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports from the White House. It appears to be the deadliest attack on U.S. forces in Afghanistan in nearly a year and a half. The military says the bombing in eastern Afghanistan killed 3 and wounded 3 others plus an American contractor. It happened in Ghazni province where the Taliban are very active and the militants are claiming responsibility for this attack, saying they destroyed a U.S. tank. 3 American troops were killed in June, 2017 in an insider attack by an Afghan soldier.

A former national treasurer of Venezuela has been 
sentenced(형을) 선고하다 to 10 years in a U.S. prison for his role in a !$1,000,000,000 bribery뇌물 수수 in money laundering돈[자금] 세탁 scheme. Alejandro Andrade accepted a plea deal and was sentenced in Florida where he has been living. He was a bodyguard for the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez before being named head of Venezuela's treasury. This is VOA news.

Human Rights Watch국제인권감시기구 has asked Argentina to use a war crimes clause in its constitution to investigate Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Reuters correspondent Emily Wither reports the investigation could happen while the prince is attending the G20 summitG20 정상회담 this week in Argentina. The powerful crown prince, known as MBS, is currently touring several Arab countries. It's his first trip abroad since the columnist's death in Istanbul's consulate영사관. caused a global outcry격렬한 항의[반응]. Next he'll head to Buenos Aires, where the rights group says its submission was sent to a federal judge. Argentina's constitution recognizes universal jurisdiction사법권, 재판권 for war crimes and torture. That means judicial authorities can investigate and prosecute suspected crimes no matter where they were committed although local reports suggest it's unlikely authorities would take up[신청·도전을] 받아들이다 the case.

Police in India have agreed to 
call off중지하다, 취소하다 the search for the body of an American man who was presumably killed by a secluded tribe. The announcement came after anthropologists인류학자, researchers and an international rights group said the effort to recover the body of 27-year-old John Allen Chau caused a risk to the hunter-gatherer tribe. Chau went to the prohibited North Sentinel Island off the Indian mainland on a mission to convert the tribe to Christianity. Tribe members reportedly shot him dead with arrows and fishermen said they spotted tribe members dragging and burying Chau's body in the sand.


The judge in the trial of an accused drug
