할로윈(Halloween) 축제 때 쓸 수 있는 있는 영어 표현들

유령 및 괴물 복장을 하고 다른 집에 찾아가 사탕을 달라고 한다. 할로윈(영어: Halloween 핼러윈[*], 할로윈 데이)은 매년 모든 성인 대축일 전날인 10월 31일에 행해지는 전통 행사이다.

Many young kids will dress up as scary monsters and spooky ghosts this Halloween. In places like Ireland, Britain and the U.S they go trick or treating, which involves going to your neighbours' houses and scaring them with your creepy costumes. The idea is for young children to try to frighten people and in return they receive some 'treats' such as sweets, candy or even fruit.

올해도 할로윈데이 때 많은 아이들이 무시무시한 괴물과 오싹한 유령으로 변장할 것이다. 아일랜드와 영국, 미국에서는 이 날 무섭게 변장한 아이들은 집집마다 돌아다니며 '과자를 안 주면 장난칠 거예요'라고 말한다. 아이들이 사람들에게 이렇게 말하며 겁을 주면 과자나 사탕, 과일 같은 '특별한 선물'을 받는다.

Halloween is also fun for adults. My friends and I often dress up in costumes and go to fancy dress parties in friends' homes or even in locals pubs and bars. It's so much fun to see each other dressed up.

할로윈은 어른들도 즐기는 축제이다. 내 친구와 나는 종종 의상을 차려 입고  친구의 집이나 동네 술집이나 바에서 여는 파티에 간다. 파티에 온 사람들의 복장을 보는 재미도 쏠쏠하다.

Oh, and before I forget, a haunted house is that old place at the end of your street that really gives you the creeps and makes you have nightmares about it!

이런, 흉가를 이야기 안하면 안돼지.  길가에 버려진 낡고 오래된 흉가에 가면 매우 오싹한 기분이 들고 꿈에도 자꾸 나타날 거야.
